Our Faculty
Dr. Venkatesh Natarajan, BA, MA, PhD
At an eight year old boy in 1982, Dr. Venkatesh Natarajan began his Sangeetha journey with his mother, Veena Vidhushi Gomathi Natarajan. He went on to learn from world renowned musicians such as Seetha Ramasharma, S.P. Ram, O.S. Thiagarajan and Padmasri Lalgudi Jayaraman. Acquiring Isaikalaimani recognition from Annamalai University, he proceeded to M.A. Music and has successfully earned his PhD from the Annamali University. Dr. Venkatesh Natarajan joined Annamalai University in 2002 as a Senior Lecturer in Vocal Music. Dr. N. Venkatesh has been associated with the Annamalai Canada Campus since 2006 as the Head of Music servicing the B.A and M.A programs of the Annamalai University’s Distance Education initiatives.
Dr. Thillai Muthukumaran Natarajan, BA, MA, PhD
Pursuing his passion for the Violin, Dr. Thillai Muthukumaran Natarajan, started learning from Sangeetha Pooshanam Kumaravel and continued training under well known exponents of Carnatic music, including O.S. Thiagarajan. He obtained his B.A in Music at Annamalai University in 1986 and M.A in Indian Music from the Madras University and earned his PhD from Annamalai University where he had been a Senior Lecturer in Violin since 2002. Dr. Muthukumaran has traveled widely performing all over the world, in addition to performing at major Sabhas in India. As Professor for Violin Dr. Muthukumaran has been associated with the Canada Campus since 2007 as the Head of Instrumental Music servicing the B. A and M. A. programs of the Annamalai University’s Distance Education initiatives.
